The Nanung Peace Initiative (NPI) is deeply honored to announce that His Royal Majesty Nyelinbolgu Naa Yakubu Andani Dasana Abdulai, the esteemed Regent and Acting President of the Nanung Kingdom, will be a distinguished participant in the “Traditional and Religious Leaders’ Advocacy for Peaceful Elections in Ghana 2024” event. This important gathering will be held on November 2, 2024, at the UDS Multi-Purpose Auditorium in Tamale, from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Nyelinbolgu Naa Yakubu Andani Dasana Abdulai will serve as one of the panel chiefs for the discussion titled “Perspectives from Traditional Leaders: Traditional Approaches to Electoral Peace-building.” His Royal Majesty will share his in-depth knowledge and experiences in traditional leadership, focusing on how the cultural practices and values of the Nanung Kingdom have contributed to maintaining peace and order during challenging times. His guidance on conflict resolution and the importance of traditional authority in promoting a peaceful electoral process will be vital to the panel discussions.
The royal contributions will emphasize:
- The role of traditional leadership in conflict prevention and how it serves as a stabilizing force during elections.
- Nanung Kingdom’s rich cultural heritage as a foundation for peace-building and communal harmony.
- The responsibility of traditional rulers in facilitating dialogue between political factions to ensure a peaceful electoral process.

- Key members of the Parliament of Ghana, such as the Speaker of Parliament, the Majority Leader, the Minority Leader, and the Majority and Minority Chief Whips, who will share their legislative perspectives on peaceful elections.
- Diplomatic representatives from selected embassies, who will offer international perspectives on ensuring peaceful electoral processes.
- Flagbearers from political parties, who will present their views on ensuring a transparent and peaceful electoral environment.
This convergence of traditional leaders, religious figures, parliamentary officials, diplomatic representatives, and political figures will create a platform for dialogue and collaboration, paving the way for peaceful elections in Ghana.
