Tamale, Ghana – The Electoral Commission of Ghana has officially finalized the list of political party flagbearers qualified for the upcoming general elections. In light of this development, the Nanung Peace Initiative (NPI) is poised to release its program booklet and jingle in advance of the Traditional and Religious Leaders’ Advocacy for Peaceful Elections in Ghana 2024, scheduled for November 2, 2024.
This high-profile national event will be hosted at the UDS Multi-Purpose Auditorium in Tamale, drawing together a distinguished lineup of traditional and religious leaders, political party flagbearers, diplomatic representatives, and key stakeholders from civil society. The goal is to foster a spirit of unity and ensure a peaceful election period in the weeks leading up to the general polls.
With the EC’s finalization of the ballot process, the NPI has been tasked to produce and circulate its program booklet and jingle for nationwide publication on television and radio stations. The booklet will outline key segments of the program, which includes discussions on electoral peace, speeches by prominent leaders, and a commitment to peaceful campaigning, culminating in the signing of a peace communiqué.
The NPI is aiming to launch the jingle and program booklet by mid-October to promote national awareness. This launch will also serve to mobilize public interest and reinforce the message of peace as Ghanaians prepare for the critical 2024 elections.
