Northern Kings & Nanung Peace Initiative Hail UDS Football Team’s Historic Feat
The Nanung Peace Initiative (NPI), in solidarity with the Kings of the Northern Kingdoms of Ghana, proudly congratulates the University for Development Studies (UDS) football team in Tamale on their historic qualification to the finals of the 2025 World University Games in Dalian, China.
Led by His Royal Majesty Ndan Ya-Na Abukari II, King of Dagbon, and joined by the Nayiri, the Bimbilla Naa, the Yagbonwura, and the Wa Naa, the Northern Kings described the achievement as a victory not only for Tamale and UDS, but also for Ghana, Africa, and the spirit of peace and unity.
NPI further commended the team’s discipline, teamwork, and resilience, noting that such values mirror the very foundation of peacebuilding. As the team prepares to face Brazil’s Paulista University in the grand finale, NPI and the Northern Kings pray for strength, focus, and ultimate victory.
