Nanung Peace Initiative (NPI) Commends Lifting of Curfew on Bimbilla and Calls for Unity, Peaceful Coexistence, Understanding, and Development

The Nanung Peace Initiative (NPI) expresses its profound gratitude to the Minister for Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak, and the Northern Regional Security Council for lifting the curfew on Bimbilla with immediate effect.

For years, the curfew had posed significant challenges to the growth and development of Bimbilla. Economic activities, especially night trading, were severely impacted, affecting livelihoods and discouraging business engagements. The restrictions also created misconceptions among people from other regions, leading many to think otherwise about Bimbilla’s safety and stability. With the curfew now lifted, NPI believes this marks a turning point for rebuilding confidence, promoting economic vibrancy, and enhancing Bimbilla’s image as a peaceful and thriving town.

NPI recognizes that sustainable peace, peaceful coexistence, and understanding among all stakeholders are key to development. Therefore, we use this opportunity to share our ultimate advice with the youth, stakeholders, religious leaders, and traditional authorities: let us not relent in our collective journey of prayer, unity, understanding, and peacebuilding for the prosperity of our dear Nanung Kingdom.

This is the time for us—the youth—to turn away from any form of conflict and channel our energy into developmental pursuits. We must transform the arms race into a race for education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and infrastructure development. Together, we can foster an environment where businesses thrive, children learn in peace, and families build prosperous futures.

NPI also calls on stakeholders, development partners, and well-meaning individuals to support initiatives that will sustain this progress. Peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding remain the cornerstones for unity and development. With peace in Bimbilla, the entire Nanung Kingdom can look forward to a brighter, more prosperous future.

Together for Peace. Together for Development. Together for Peaceful Coexistence. Together for Understanding. Together for Nanung.
